D. James (Jim) Marler recently worked for the Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), a NIST-MEP affiliate where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager. Prior to that he was President & CEO of a plastics company in New England.
Jim has spent the majority of his professional career in engineering, innovation, and manufacturing operations management roles.
Jim has extensive executive management and technology expertise. His professional experience includes domestic and international initiatives in both Lean Manufacturing and Innovation Services, as well as Engineering and Strategic Planning. In his most recent role with MRC he delivered services that included: succession planning, energy & sustainability, technology & innovation, new product development and other related growth and lean manufacturing services.
Throughout his career, Jim, had extensive experience in managing global technology groups, capital and operating budgets, R&D, patents and technology transfer, lean manufacturing and operations management, as well as leadership/management training.
Jim has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Delaware.
ROBERTA A. MARLER Vice President & Managing Partner
Roberta A. (Bobbi) Marler has spent close to 10 years working for a Fortune 50 insurance company managing personal injury and property claims. In her role, she conducted initial claim investigations, analyzed and interpreted insurance policy contracts and coverages; made liability determinations; evaluated and negotiated property damage and bodily injury claims with both unrepresented parties and attorneys;assisted in the preparation of and response to discovery; participated in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Prior to that she spent time as legal assistant and researcher for a prominent law firm in Delaware which handled plaintiff's personal injury, workers' compensation and criminal cases.
She has extensive experience in discovery review, demand package preparation, drafting opinions, providing IME oversight, deposition question development, and recommending go-forward strategies for claim settlements.
Bobbi has also held a judicial internship during law school and was responsible for conducting legal research and drafting memoranda.
However, the most satisfying period in her career has been being a Mom and raising our two wonderful children.
Bobbi is very active in the community. She teaches PREP at St. Ann's church in Emmaus, has served as past president and continues to be part of the Macungie Elementary School PTC, and is a substitute in the East Penn School District.
Bobbi received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Scranton, her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law, and an Associate Degree in Claims from the Insurance Institute of America.
